The last month has certainly been an eventful one, and has passed in something of a blur.  As I work to catch up on all of our pictures and activities and (hopefully) bring the blog current, I wanted to make a special post out of the fun trip we took to the Chattanooga Children’s Museum with Grammie and Papa Wright.  Of course we had no idea that it would be the last time we would ever spend time with Papa Wright, and I’m so thankful we had this great day that we will always be able to look back on with the kids.

The CCM is such a great spot – I couldn’t recommend it more highly.  One of the first areas is a large glass-enclosed waterworks display with loads of hands-on activities, and the girls jumped right in:

Daddy and Scarlett:

Grammie Wright and Sissy checking out the window that allowed them to see the workings under the “river”:

Scarlett donned Captain’s Vest and practised driving the boat:

A quick rest with Daddy:

I *loved* that they had a face-painting exhibit!  Scarlett immediately sat down and got busy painting war stripes on her cheeks:

Of course Victoria wanted in on the action right away, but asked Scarlett to help her:

Next, Grammie Wright and Sissy worked to color a flag at a craft station:

More crafting:

This is pretty much how Lincoln and I rolled:

The Little Yellow House was a huge hit – it was a toddler-sized house, complete with kitchen, laundry room and garage where the kids could “work” on various projects.

Sissy, selecting some tools in the garage:

Scarlett, working on the laundry (her favorite job at home, too):

When everyone got hungry, we decided to break for lunch and walk over a few blocks to “Cheeburger, Cheeburger” (no, I’m not misspelling it).  Scarlett really enjoyed the trek, holding Papa Wright’s hand the entire way and listening as he explained about crosswalk lights and teaching her how to press the button to cross:

Once at the restaurant, Sissy wanted to sit in between Grammie and Papa Wright:

Scarlett, doing a good job of drinking MY milkshake :)

Sissy, giggling about Papa Wright’s silly face:

Back at the museum after lunch, the girls spent a solid 30 minutes or more in the doctor’s room exhibit.  Nothing could have thrilled Scarlett more – if we had a room like this at home, she would probably never leave!

Victoria was Dr. Scarlett’s first patient:

It’s important to check each patient’s blood pressure:

This baby doll had to get a few “pokes”:

I love how earnestly serious they were:

Sissy, checking in Papa Wright:

If Scarlett actually becomes a doctor (like she says she will – no joke, she often tells me that her and Sissy are BOTH going to be doctors… according to her, Sissy is going to be a “baby doctor” and she is going to be an “old people doctor”), this picture will seem a little prophetic:

We ended our day with a stop at the modeling clay and stamping stations.  Here’s V, working on the stamps:

And of course on our way out, we had to make one last stop at the giant bubble machine!

What a special day we had.
