Although Nana-Wednesdays are no longer a weekly occurrence, we still try to sneak one in from time to time. The girls love running all around, eating ice cream and “taking naps” (read: bouncing around) in Nana’s room. Lincoln, meanwhile, enjoys even more unfettered attention that he normally gets:
During most of the year – even when it’s cool out – we spend a lot of our post-nap afternoons playing on the deck or in the front yard. However, the weather was so brutally hot (with heat indexes of 100+ every day) during July that we ended up playing indoors more often than not after naps. The girls love taking all of the bottom-level pantry items out and setting up a “store” on the fireplace. Most of the time everything gets put away, but every once in a while I’ll be cleaning out a toy bin and find a random package of taco seasoning
While the girls played store, Lincoln was busy studying the mobile on his swing:
On Friday, July 9th, ChickFilA was running their annual Cow Day at all locations – if you dressed up like a cow, your entire meal was free! The girls LOVE ChickFilA, so that coupled with the chance to dress up and get free food was a no brainer ~ I dressed the girls all in white, created cow spots, ears and tails out of black construction paper, and completed their ensembles with the notorious “Eat Mor Chikin” signs. The girls were such good sports about it and their little costumes turned out so cute!
Ears and tail:
Cow-sisters! (the moo-ing was nonstop)
Our favorite local ChickFilA was all decked out and not only was the regular cow-guy out, but there was a special baby cow as well – the girls loved all of the excitement of the event and gave the cows approximately 137 hugs each:
And of course Gram and I had to dress up as well!
On Sunday the 11th, Jim drove up to Nashville to meet Aunt Jen half way to pick up cousin Mikayla. After taking the kids to church (my first time taking all of them to church by myself; it went smoothly but literally took all morning to get us around and out the door…) we all enjoyed a good nap, and when Victoria woke up and I had Lincoln in hand, she demanded that he lay down on her pillow and snuggle with her. He was a good sport
He sure does love his sisters and gets so excited and animated when they pause to talk to him or even get close by.
Later that evening, Daddy and Mikayla returned home. Mikayla had brought a present for the girls from Aunt Jen – a really fun computer hook-up that allows the girls to practice painting, drawing and writing with a stylus. Scarlett and Victoria both loved it and were mostly good about taking turns and sharing. For her part, Scarlett found an engaging task to do while Sissy took her turn:

Great web site! I actually love how it’s effortless on my eyes and also the information are effectively written. We’re wondering how I could be notified whenever a brand new put up has been produced. We have subscribed to your rss feed which need to do the trick! Possess a nice day!
