Tags: Lincoln Arrives!
Lincoln James Wright joined officially joined our family at 12:31 p.m. on June 9th!
Immediately after entering the world, being cleaned up by the nurses:
Wrapped up and meeting/yelling at Daddy for the first time:
Isn’t he beautiful? I just can’t get over how perfect he is:
Posing:
Lincoln already has great expressions
I couldn’t wait to get into my recovery room and hold my precious baby boy and give him kisses:
“Hi, Mommy!”
Grammie, along with Grammie Wright and Papa Wright, had been patiently waiting for their turn to meet Lincoln and after a few hours (once we were settled in our actual room) they were able to be introduced.

And finally, Papa Wright:
Daddy had been more than patient in passing around his baby, and when all of our visitors had left, there was no way he was handing Lincoln back over to anyone – not the nurses or me!
He is enthralled with his son
The following day (Thursday), we were visited by Aunt Kari:
And cousin Mindy. Both agreed with our assessment that Lincoln is beyond awesome and gorgeous
Nana and Papa had been huge helps in keeping the girls out at their house during most of my stay in the hospital. This was far and away the longest they’ve ever been without Mommy, and it was difficult for them (and me), but staying out at Nana’s house for 2 nights was a big, fun adventure for them and they had a blast! Nana and Papa were finally able to come visit us and meet the newest addition of the “Nana-crew”:

Then on Friday morning the real fun begin when Daddy brought the girls to the hospital to meet their new little brother! Of course we had been talking about Lincoln for months and months, and they were so genuinely excited to meet this little person who had been residing in my belly.
“Hello Lincoln!” (or as Sissy says, “Hi, Linc!”)
A video snippet of their initial meeting:
Then of course there was much jostling to see who would hold Lincoln first. Scarlett got set up in a chair, and with the use of the Boppy pillow, it was no time before she was a pro and could hold him unassisted with some supervision:
Sissy was less than patiently waiting her turn, but snuggling with Daddy made the wait go faster:
The pictures don’t show them well, but both girls were wearing their “Big Sister” shirts – Scarlett’s says “Biggest Sister”, and Victoria’s says “Big Sister”. They LOVE those shirts!
Scarlett wasn’t too interested to relinquish her turn at holding Lincoln:
But eventually it was Victoria’s turn – she was so enamored of all his little parts
She really wanted to hold him by herself, so we had to switch chairs and add some padding to make it work (don’t worry, Daddy was mere inches away):
Scarlett’s turn again, this time in the rocking chair too:

Finally, right before it was time for the girls to head home for a nap, we worked to get them situated on my bed and let them (mostly Scarlett) feed Lincoln a little bottle. They are such great big sisters already, and it was a really precious moment to see all of my children together like this for the first time:

We’re so thrilled that Lincoln is here, healthy and officially a member of our family. Thank you, Lord!
