Wednesday morning the girls and I rushed around to take Jim to work and then head up to Little Bear Indoor Playground to meet a couple of friends.  Both girls are completely re-enthralled with the place now after rediscovering its awesomeness a few weeks ago (thanks to Mita and Maddie!).  It’s always a fun activity, especially on a slower paced week or when it’s too cold outside to really take advantage of the multiple (outdoor) parks by our house.  We played and hung out with Jenny & Clark and Erica & Elizabeth – Victoria is always game for a play date featuring ‘big’ kids, so it’s only fair that every once in a while Scarlett partake in a get-together with babies that are more Victoria’s age :)

The Wrights were all in good form this morning, so we did our traditional Sunday morning rush-around and were out the door and on our way to Sunday School in the cold, drizzly weather.  Scarlett has started letting me add “cute curls” (her phrase) to her hair the past couple of Sundays, which is so fun.  Both girls looked adorable and I realized that from now on I am going to have to make sure we’re all ready 5 minutes earlier than normal to ensure we can take a quick family picture.  I managed to get a quick snapshot of Scarlett entering the children’s building, but our red-eye repair camera feature really did something wonky and it looks like she has a glass eye!  Oh well, at least there is evidence of her cute outfit:

Wednesday morning the girls and I headed up to Marietta for a playdate hosted by Ms. Aubrey.  Her daughter Ana turns one year old this week and the theme of the event was celebrating her big day and, of course, CUPCAKES.  Because let’s face facts, with toddlers in the mix, there can be no celebration without cupcakes!  Scarlett had a rough morning but was super excited about the prospect of getting out of the house and seeing some friends and oh yeah, the cupcakes :)   We arrived and Victoria wanted to be put down right in the middle of all of the toys and other babies.  It’s so funny to watch her interact with the other babies, because most of them are between 2 and 5 months older than her but she is *sure* she can join them in whatever they are doing.  Pull up to the toybox and dig through the stuffed animals like the one-year-olds?  Not a problem!

Today was WalMart Day – we were running low on a variety of items and so this morning it was time to sit and write our grocery/household list before heading out.  Scarlett always enjoys sitting with me and writing her list as well, which she reads aloud and sounds something like, “Noodles-cheese, elmo juice, pears, choc-late puddnah…” (translation: chocolate pudding).

Somehow we were still struggling with the reverse effect that Daylight Savings Time seems to have on us, and the girls and I slept til 9:00 a.m.!!  To be fair, Victoria had been up earlier in the morning but Jim had managed to get her back down (which was great!) and I was so surprised when I realized that it was so late.  Our playgroup was meeting up at the same park Scarlett and I visited on Saturday, and we really needed to get a move on if there was a chance of us being on time.  Thankfully, Grammie was there to lend a big hand – some mornings I don’t know what we’d do without her!  While I put together the diaper bag, packed a picnic lunch and picked out our clothes, she fed the girls breakfast and then they spent some time on the deck watching the deck crew dig out a large flat section of our forest-like backyard.  She also helped Scarlett brush her teeth and got the baby dressed and we were able to roll out of the house just when we needed to ensure we were on time!
