Grammie had gone to visit her brother (Uncle Bob) over the weekend, and when she returned on Monday she brought a special friend with her to show the girls. Read the rest of this entry »

Although we had a very full docket during the week beginning Monday the 5th, I managed not to take a single picture! I can’t believe that! We had a return to our old Nana-Wednesdays, complete with golf cart rides, an adventure to a little nearby park, playing in a new wiggly sprinkler, and meeting the world’s cutest puppy which chased the girls into fits of hysterical giggles. For the past few weeks, the girls and I have been trying our hand at the storytime held at our local library. Initially we visited the 3-year-olds’ storytime hour (accidentally, as we were there for other reasons and stopped in since it was just beginning), then tried out the Under 2, and this week I think we really found our niche with the 2-year-olds’ group. I’m taking a quick detour back to the middle and end of September so that I can catch up on some missed moments, which took a temporary backseat to blogging about our vacation and subsequent adventures. Comments will be short but sweet
Papa built the girls an awesome miniature porch swing, and they were instantly smitten with it. Victoria, in particular, sat on it and (I swear, I have witnesses) didn’t move from this position for a solid 5 or 6 minutes: Read the rest of this entry »

Tuesday was a super low key day for us, but the weather was lovely and we spent a good deal of time out on the deck. Grammie had on a sweatshirt at one point and Victoria kept yelling at her, pointing to the shirt… I had NO clue what she wanted, but Grammie correctly deduced that V wanted the sweatshirt for herself

In celebration of Nana turning the big “Forty-Ten”
we were invited to her house for a day of playing and visiting. Although the girls are getting used to the hour-long drive, its sometimes necessary to break it up with a stop at the SuperTarget in Hiram as we did that day. Daddy decided he would faint away if he didn’t have a hotdog from the concession stand, and naturally the girls decided they needed to split one as well. Read the rest of this entry »

Thursday morning Victoria woke up with a low-grade but consistent fever accompanied by a flow of never-ending snot… not good. I knew it was either teething or something viral and decided to have a low-key day to see what was going on. Read the rest of this entry »

The week following Victoria’s birthday party, we kept it somewhat low-key. No pictures from Monday, and just a few from Tuesday, such as the one from Scarlett’s demonstration on helmet safety while riding her “motorcycle”: Read the rest of this entry »

The Thursday following Victoria’s 1st birthday was pretty laid back – we mostly stayed home, played and cleaned up for the arrival of Jim’s parents the following day. We did however find a gigantic dead moth on the deck, which Scarlett was fascinated with. It was fairly brittle though, so as soon as she started squishing the wings it fell apart (ew.): Read the rest of this entry »
